Curator’s clip description

Aboriginal brother and sister (Luke Carroll and Kyas Sherriff), who are used to life in town, are trying to find and cook bush tucker for the German tourists they’ve offered to look after. The menu will include witchetty grubs and kangaroo steaks, and luckily the visitors are most appreciative.

Curator’s notes

The refreshingly different aspect of this telemovie is the setting in the inland city of Alice Springs, with its very multicultural population and the presence of Indigenous Australians. The magic realism works well in the telemovie and story tension is successfully built using the imminent eclipse of the sun
