Submariners (2005)
Length: 6 episodes - 26 minutes each
Synopsis
This television series looks at the life of the crew on board the Collins-class submarine HMAS Rankin. It is an intimate portrait of the personalities and skills of the 65 submariners from the commanding officer, Steve Hussey, to the steward Chris McLarty.
Curator’s notes
A well-structured and entertaining work. The filming was in cramped conditions and required the crew to sail for long periods with the submarine. As members of the crew become familiar to the viewer, the story becomes compelling viewing. The work is good dramatic storytelling.
