Synopsis

Producer, writer, director Lisa Wang tells the story of her family through home movies, interviews with her mother, siblings and relatives, and historical footage of Melbourne. It is the story of a Chinese family’s success in multicultural Australia.

The willingness of family members to discuss the difficulties and imperfections of Chinese family life make this documentary a rewarding experience to watch. Filmmaker and narrator Lisa Wang discovers herself and gets to understand her family at the same time. This makes for intriguing viewing.
