Crime boss Jack Wilton (George Lazenby) taunts Inspector Fang (Jimmy Wang Yu) with racial slurs at a harbourside party. They fight, but Wilton’s henchmen soon take his place. Journalist Caroline Thorne (Ros Spiers) calls a halt to the violence.

Wilton’s crude slurs turn this into a fight for honour, within the conventions of a Chinese art that both men understand, but also within the styles of Hong Kong cinema.
