Curator’s clip description

Kev (Ben Mendelsohn) complains to Mick (Jeremy Sims) that he hates being bored. Next day, Kev reports to the department of social security as Mick cases the bank they are planning to rob. An officious bank teller (David Wenham) tries to offer Mick extra credit, as Mick tries to figure out how to block the bank’s security screens.

Curator’s notes

Caesar packs a lot of flashy effects and a lively soundtrack into this sequence, to give a sense of excitement. The boys have decided to do something – rob a bank – and the decision is energising. It’s a film about men who have very little to do, so when they get an idea, they’re pumped up.
