Curator’s clip description

Marnie (Carmen Glynn-Braun) is preparing breakfast for her younger sister (Savannah Glynn-Braun). The younger sister complains about being sick and says she does not want to go to school. Marnie ignores her protests, and walks her to the bus stop, where she herself does not board the school bus.

Curator’s notes

A beautiful opening sequence that sets the film up by establishing the relationship between the two girls, as well as the relationship to place, and especially the glaring absence of any parental figures.
