Curator’s clip description

At the club, Barry (Bryan Brown) and Darcy (Sam Worthington) shift the bodies of two men that Barry has just shot. Detective Sergeant Ray (Sam Neill) arrives. The policeman is Barry’s main paid fixer of problems. Back in the outback the next morning, Barry visits the two American gangsters, Tony (John Goodman) and Sal (Felix Williamson) in the police lock-up. Tony tells Sal why their plan to take over the poker machine trade in Australia won’t work. Barry’s wife Sharon (Toni Collette) warns him about his girlfriend (Kestie Morassi).

Curator’s notes

Tony’s speech rhymes with Darcy’s explanation in clip 1 of why the Americans won’t win in Vietnam – a way of suggesting that Barry has been running a form of guerrilla warfare against the mafia incursions on his territory.
