Synopsis

The documentary follows the life and work of watercolourist Conrad Martens. The painter was born in England and moved to New South Wales in 1835, remaining in Australia until his death in 1878. Martens recorded early life in the colony. His excellent work is often the only visual record of early white settlement in Australia.
