Catalyst – The Antarctic Peninsula (2006)
Synopsis
Fossils of southern beech trees have been found in Antarctica, which proves that this desolate area was once a huge forest and that Antarctica was once joined to Australia and South America.
Curator’s notes
ABC science reporter Dr Paul Willis gets himself attached to a Polar expedition. It’s a great way to tell a very little known scientific story and Willis is ‘good talent’. He’s a showman and can keep us entertained and informed at the same time. A rare gift.
