The Big Boomerang (1962)
Length: 38 minutes 11 seconds
Synopsis
Qantas commissioned this film in 1962 to promote their international air service. The film features the new Boeing 707 that halved travel time overseas, and includes brief segments about transport in early Australia and flight before the 1960s.
Curator’s notes
An interesting time piece showing how ‘up to date’ and ‘thoroughly modern’ Qantas was. There are lots of well-dressed, excited passengers and fascinating destinations.
