Vaughn (Damien Pitt) and Lena (Danielle Hall) are given a lift down the road by a car of cotton chippers.

Curator’s notes

The limited employment opportunities for Aboriginal people in rural Australia is very much the context of this film. The need to self-create with limited resources is the obstacle that must be overcome. The cheap labour of the seasonal worker is the only income for many Indigenous peoples in areas such as these.
