Curator’s clip description

Ron (John Derum) and the foreman (Grahame Bond) are having a drink in the pub after work. It’s not long before the lively banter turns nasty and the foreman discovers he’s called ‘Linda the Feline Foreman’ by the workers who also wonder why he’s never married.

Curator’s notes

This is a well-observed moment at the pub when it’s revealed that the foreman is gay and has been hoping to hide it from his workmates but without success. Coming out as gay must be a difficult moment in a homosexual’s life but coming out in a working man’s environment must be even harder. This sketch bites deep and is very funny at the same time as these two wonderful comedians go head-to-head to reveal a sad and lonely character trying desperately to hide his true sexual nature.
